faq:troubleshooting:index-page-customization-problem
I cannot customize my index page. The 'Customize this page' button does not work.
In most cases this problem is caused by custom third-party JavaScript codes that conflict with the software JavaScript code. I suggest that you use FireBug to find out if there is a java-script error. You can find the information on how to use FireBug - the add-on for Firefox - here.
From now on we have added the possibility to turn off JavaScript on the Index page. This allows you to remove inappropriate code.
How to use it:
- Since the Customize this page button is non-clickable, you should type the following URL in your browser address bar:
http://[yoursite_URL]/index/customize
- There you will see the Disable JavaScript button. By clicking this button you make all JavaScript codes on your page stop working. That will give you a possibility to find the inappropriate code and remove it from the page.
- Once the changes are made, you should enable JavaScript by clicking the Enable JavaScript button, otherwise all your custom codes and standard software JavaScript code won't work.
